I finally told my neighbor about the weird noise his truck makes every morning at 5:30 AM.
So I'm an auto mechanic, right. His old Ford F-150 has this high-pitched squeal when he starts it. For months, I just lay in bed listening to it. Finally saw him outside last week and said, 'Hey, that's your serpentine belt. It's glazed.' He just stared and said, 'I thought it was the cold air.' I explained it's a ten minute fix, maybe twenty bucks for the part. The awkward part was he got super quiet, then mumbled, 'My wife said it was the radio.' Now I see him and he just gives a quick nod. Makes me wonder if I should have just kept my mouth shut. Has anyone else given unsolicited advice to a neighbor and made things weird?
