inSorting through my old conspiracy zine collection got me thinking
Found a hand drawn map in one that supposedly led to a UFO crash site. The coffee shop debates were way more fun than online stuff now.

inThe creek behind my place is cutting deeper into the shale.
Here in Utah, our shale creek cut a foot last spring just from rain, not groundwater.

inMy kimchi jar eruption shifted my take on tight lids
Yeah, the bowl trick is a lifesaver. I use a mixing bowl that's way bigger than the jar seems to need, because that kraut or fruit ferment can really let loose overnight. Once had a blueberry honey ferment wake me up with a pop, but the bowl caught the whole purple flood. You just have to remember to check the bowl itself isn't full, or you're just moving the mess. Ever keep a spare empty bowl ready to swap in?

inMy brother and I always fight over tent size for family camps.
When you say camping's about family time, not the size of the tent, you're spot on, @murphy.zara. In my family, we learned that a huge tent just gives everyone more room to spread out and ignore each other. Pick a tent that fits everyone snugly, and you'll actually talk instead of hiding in corners. The best memories come from being close, not from having extra space for your gear. Trust me, after a few trips, you'll see the big tent is just more to set up and take down.

inFitting shoes for problem feet: make them or modify store bought?
You said it yourself, your neighbor's clients don't notice a difference. For a truly messed up foot, sure, make one. But most horses are fine with a good premade shoe bent to fit. Is the perfect custom job really worth losing half your day for every tough case? Seems like overkill unless the animal is in real trouble.
