Rant: spent 90 minutes trying to pay at a self checkout in Cleveland and the machine won
So last Saturday I'm at this big store in Cleveland and the self checkout screen just freezes on me after I scan my milk. I stand there waving my hand at the sensor like an idiot for maybe 2 minutes before an employee walks over and says "oh it does that, just hit the red button." The red button does nothing. She tries it 3 more times, then calls a manager, who says we have to move to lane 4, where the card reader rejects my card twice before it finally goes through. Total time from milk scan to receipt was 90 minutes, no joke. I had already put my stuff in a bag and was ready to just walk out at one point. Does anyone know why these machines do this, or is it just my bad luck?
