The bank teller caught me mid-fake-phone-call at the PNC on Maple Ave
Last Tuesday I walked into the PNC on Maple Ave to deposit a check and realized about 10 feet from the counter that I'd forgotten my wallet in the car. Instead of just turning around, I panicked and put my phone to my ear to pretend I got an important call, but it was face up in my hand and the screen was clearly black. The teller just smiled and said "sir, your phone's not even on," and two people behind me in line started laughing. Now I always do a pocket check in the car before I go in anywhere, and it's honestly saved me more than once. Has anyone else ever faked a call to avoid looking silly and gotten caught red handed?
