Buddy at the trailhead told me my tire pressure was way too high for sand
I used to run my 33s at 30 psi for everything, pavement and dirt. This guy with a beat up old Land Cruiser walked over and said I was basically floating on top of the sand, not digging in. He showed me his gauge and he was at 15 psi. Dropped mine to 18 near Glamis last weekend and holy moly, the truck actually hooked up and climbed dunes I'd been spinning out on for months. Has anyone else had a random stranger give them a tip that totally changed their off road game?
