Wasted $150 on a hydraulic brake bleed kit that was total junk

Did you have trouble getting the Park Tool cup to seal on your lever, or was it pretty much plug and play?

That $80 dice tower I bought off Etsy was a complete dud

Totally changed my mind after a similar experience. I was all about handcrafted wooden stuff thinking it was better quality but my $50 tower from some local guy came with uneven gaps and the felt liner already peeling off after a week. Swapped to a basic plastic tower from Amazon for like 20 bucks and it rolls fine, no chips or wobble after months of use. Makes me wonder if the whole handcrafted premium is just paying for the look not the function. Have you tried just going back to the box lid method yet or are you set on a tower?

Our book club debate got personal when someone called the main character 'unrelatable'

That whole spreadsheet thing actually reminds me of something I read last month about how people are using data to defend their opinions way more now. This article was talking about how social media has made everyone feel like they need to "prove" their takes with facts, like it's a debate instead of just sharing thoughts. It's kinda sad because book clubs used to be about connecting over stories, not winning arguments. I saw another piece that said this behavior comes from people feeling insecure about their own viewpoints. They think if they can't back it up with stats then their opinion doesn't matter, which misses the whole point of reading together. At the end of the day, nobody's keeping a spreadsheet on Elizabeth Bennet's finances to understand the book better, they're just trying to look smart.

Off-brand trash bags finally let me down after 6 months of loyalty

Spaghetti sauce AND eggshells? That's a brutal combo for a trash bag suicide.

Switched from pre-finished plywood to painting my own faces 2 years ago and haven't looked back

Switched to painting my own panels about 4 years back and never regretted it once. That extra day or two makes a huge difference when you can nail a custom color on the first try. Pre-finished stuff just looks too flat and glossy for my tastes now.
