Why does nobody talk about the before and after of deleting old emails?
I finally did a huge email purge last weekend, deleting like 3,000 emails from 2016 to 2020. Before that, my inbox was a mess with old newsletters and spam I never opened. After, I noticed my phone felt snappier when loading the mail app, and searching for stuff took way less time. But a friend said it didn't change anything for her and she just flags important stuff instead. I'm wondering if the cleanup really helps performance or if it's more about making you feel less overwhelmed. Has anyone else seen a real difference after deleting old emails, or is it just in your head?
