Am I the only one who used a paint stick to stir coffee for a whole winter and just found out that's nasty?
So last Tuesday I'm on a job in Akron and I grab a clean stir stick to mix my gas station coffee, and the kid on my crew looks at me like I just ate soup with a screwdriver. I'd been doing this since November, probably 60 cups easy, because the plastic stirrers always snap and the stick is right there in my pouch. His side is that wood holds dirt, splinters, and whatever got on it in the truck, and honestly he's got a point. My side is that a stick is free, sturdy, and composts when I toss it, unlike those little red plastic guys. But now I'm second guessing every cup I drank and wondering if I'm just gross. Where do you all land on this, is a wood stir stick fine or am I the reason my crew hides the coffee pot from me?
