PSA: it took me 3 weekends to get my brother's Firebird out of a soggy backyard in Gary, Indiana

I thought a set of ramps and a come-along would free his '78 Firebird from where it sank into the grass over 2 winters, but every pull just buried it deeper. Turns out the rear frame was sitting on a buried cinder block and we had to dig down 14 inches before it would budge, which ate two full Saturdays on its own. Has anyone else dug a car out of soft ground like that, and did you use boards or just winch it slow?
