inI finally tried that new barbershop on Maple Street and the mirror placement is a disaster.
Wait, have you ever had to do a tight fade with that setup? I mean, you can't just get up once and call it good. You're up and down like ten times a minute, and it throws off your whole rhythm. It's not about having it hard, it's about a basic tool not working right. That constant moving around adds up and makes a clean cut way harder than it needs to be.

inAppreciation post: my local grocery store's 'manager's special' meat section is a goldmine
Honestly, it reminds me of my neighbor who threw out a whole unopened gallon of milk because the date was that morning... I tried to tell him to just give it a sniff test, but he wouldn't hear it. Some folks are just wired to see that date and panic, I guess. Makes more cheap chicken for the rest of us.

inUnpopular opinion: people who stand on the left side of the escalator are the real traffic jam
That shoulder tap feels like a social crime. My awkwardness levels hit the roof every time I have to do it. Still beats crashing into someone, though.

inJust wasted $80 on a 'professional' soldering iron from a sketchy online shop
Ugh, been there. My first "bargain" iron melted its own plastic handle. I upgraded to a basic Weller and it's been solid for years, no weird temp swings. For your budget, you could grab one of those and still have cash left for a decent tip cleaner.

inFound a stack of old postcards in a library book about Maine
Wow, that's a great story. My buddy found a class ring in a park years ago. It had the school and graduation year engraved inside. He tracked down the high school alumni office online, and they put him in touch with the guy. Turns out the man had lost it on a visit to his hometown nearly a decade before. He mailed it back, and the guy sent my friend a thank you card with a photo of him wearing the ring again.
