Showerthought: I was rinsing my canned beans for 2 years before a $1 store clerk set me straight
Standing in line at the Save A Lot on 8th last week, the guy behind me saw my 3 cans of black beans and asked if I was draining the liquid straight into the sink. He said that cloudy water is half the flavor and starch, so now I dump it in a jar and use it to thicken soup. Been eating plain beans this whole time when I could've had something richer for free, so what else am I tossing out that I should be keeping?
