inWarning: tried the bag-over-the-brush trick in a 1920s brick flue in Salem, and I just spent 20 minutes picking soot out of my eyebrows
Taping the bag is a waste of time, a real seal comes from stuffing the flue with a soot rag first.

inWarning: The dishwasher flooded my kitchen on a Tuesday and I just stood there
Old hoses can look fine and still fail, the clamp just lets go after years of hot water and soap. Mine did the same thing at 2am and the tile was slick as ice. Check that clamp every few months and swap the hose if it feels stiff or cracked. Mom was wrong about the lazy part, but she was right that water finds a way out.

inThe moon filter I nearly skipped saved my Jupiter shots in Flagstaff
A variable polarizing filter? Sure, and while I'm at it let me just go ahead and buy EVERY filter ever made so I can test them all for you personally, @mitchell.lee. I only used the 25% because that's what I had on hand and I'm not made of money, funny how that works. If you want to send me a variable one to try out I'll happily put it through its paces. Otherwise the 25% did just fine for what I needed it for.
