inTIL those cheap plastic patio chairs fade in like 2 months...
Had a friend who tried that Krylon Fusion on a patio table and it peeled off in these weird strips after one winter, @vera_palmer - she ended up spraying on truck bed liner instead and now it looks like a parking lot curb stop at her cookouts.

inThe old timer who showed me to let the cutterhead do the work instead of pushing
I ran a dredge for 12 years on the Mississippi and I gotta say I disagree with this. We tried the whole slow and easy approach and it cost us a whole season of production. The cutterhead lets you take bigger bites if you run the swing speed up. Our pump never had issues because we kept a close eye on the vacuum and adjusted. Slow swings just let the material settle back down before you get it in the suction. We had a guy who insisted on the old school way and his loads were always smaller. I'd rather replace wear parts every other year than leave money in the bottom.

inPicked a stick welder over a mig for my home shop
Ngl you actually got me thinking. I always wrote off stick as too finicky but after messing with it more on some thicker stuff I get the appeal now. Still grab the mig first for most things but I'm not hating on stick like I used to.

inHad the worst field day in 5 years last Saturday
Right, the swelling is the worst part. Once those lithium cells start puffing up from the heat, they're basically done. I had a dash cam battery do the same thing, just bloated right up until the case cracked. It's not even just the direct sun, it's the trapped heat inside the car that just cooks them slowly. You'd think they'd figure out a way to shield them better, but I guess the cost would go way up.

inMy cheap tarp saved my tent from a river of mud last weekend
Read that exact same thing happened to a buddy of mine in the Smokies too.
