Update: the bookmark I made into a drinking game at our Tuesday meeting got me uninvited
We were discussing chapter 12 at my neighbor Deb's house in Boise last week, and I had the bright idea to take a sip of wine every time a member said the phrase "unreliable narrator." By chapter 15 I was three glasses in and loudly argued that the author was actually the villain, which did not go over well with the seven other women there. Deb said I was "ruining the vibe for everyone" and asked me to sit out next time, so now I have to write an apology note and bring muffins to get back in. I still think my point about the ending was right, though. Has any other club tried a gimmick like this, or am I the first person to get tossed from a book group?
