The British Museum has entire rooms of relocated Egyptian artifacts. So yeah, most historical items aren't in their original spot anymore.

My buddy Sarah cut some dahlias last evening and left them out in a vase with just a bit of water. She read online about letting stems air out before putting them in a full bouquet.
