My neighbor tried the no-soak method last week. He just tossed some red lentils straight into a pot with some onion and cumin. They fell apart into a thick stew in like, twenty minutes. He said it was the easiest dinner he'd made in months. Totally sold me on skipping the soak.

Yeah Beartooth maps are solid, but I gotta say Green Trails has them beat for detail on those off trail routes. Their contour lines are just way easier to read when you're actually out there. Ended up using both on my last trip and the GT one was my go-to.

Seems like a lot of fuss over an itch.

But a steady check beats feast or famine every time.
