Question about why I kept quitting shows after 3 episodes for years
So I just figured out something dumb about myself. For like 5 years I would start a new show, watch maybe 3 or 4 episodes, then get bored and drop it. I thought I just had bad taste or something. But last week my coworker Sarah pointed out that I always start shows mid-season when they're already hyped up online, and the first few episodes feel slow because nothing big is happening yet. She told me to try starting with season 2 of some show to see if I like the vibe first, then go back. I tried it with a crime drama called The Bureau and actually stuck with it for 8 episodes straight. Is that normal or am I just weird about pacing? Has anyone else dealt with needing to skip around to find the hook?
