Have you tried recording your own drums from random objects around your apartment? I started banging on pipes and stomping on cardboard boxes and the character it gives my beats is way more interesting than any pack I've used. It forces you to work with weird tones and imperfections that end up making the whole track feel alive.

Man I read a thing once where someone used lithium grease on a press fit bottom bracket and the cups basically slid right out a few weeks later. That stuff is way too slippery for plastic cups, it just doesn't hold up. People really need to just grab a tub of marine grease and save themselves the headache.
