My Orion Nebula shot looked like a gray blob for months and I couldn't figure out why.

Reminds me of trying to fix a bad phone signal by just redialing over and over. The problem wasn't the number of tries, it was the connection itself. We get stuck in a loop of doing the same thing, hoping more effort will fix it, when the method is the real issue. It happens with everything from learning a skill to fixing stuff around the house. You keep pushing harder on the same path instead of stopping to check if you're even on the right road.

Had to pick between a gas forge and a coal one for my new shop

Yeah, that smell really gets in your clothes. @hunt.nora tell him to try keeping a dedicated shop jacket, it helps a lot.

Tried using a Bundt pan for my grandma's pound cake recipe

Oh man, dark pans are the worst for that. I had the same thing happen with a batch of brownies, they were basically charcoal on the edges and soup in the middle. My mom's old cookbook actually has a note scribbled in the margin to drop the temp by 25 degrees for her "black tin.

Update: I was torquing spark plugs with my impact for like three years

Plus you'll never get that bolt off again if it seizes up.

Why does nobody talk about the hidden fees on those cheap bus tickets?

I booked a trip with GoBus to Cleveland last month and the final price was exactly what I saw online... I always check the full breakdown before I pay. Those extra fees are usually listed in the terms if you scroll down. It feels sneaky, but I guess they count on people not reading the fine print.
