Fixed it with a chopstick, now it's a sushi grinder lol.

The beep before the snap is exactly why I grabbed a cheap one too. It’s funny how we’ll trust a $5 kitchen scale for baking but second guess ourselves on stuff that could hurt us. Same with tire pressure gauges, I used to just squeeze the sidewall until it felt hard, then realized that’s how you end up with a blowout on the highway. Cheap tools that give you a clear yes or no are worth way more than the fancy stuff that just makes you feel cool in the garage.

Did you check if the cable itself was the problem, or was it definitely the port? I had something similar happen, and swapping to a shorter, higher quality cable fixed it completely for me.
