Ha, that is too funny! My daughter does the same thing where the jokes I think are total winners get a 2 and the weird ones she loves. What worked for us was letting the kids pick a joke of the week and we write it on a whiteboard on the fridge. Turns out they love the really silly ones with sounds or made up words way more than my clever ones. The one they beg for is this old one about a cow that goes to the moooovie theater, and it is honestly terrible. My advice is just lean into the dumb ones, because kids love when you get goofy and stop trying to be clever.
