Found a tiny greenhouse trick that saved my basil plants

Right? Same thing happened with my basil, dude. First week was amazing, then it just started going downhill fast. I think it's the lack of direct sun, even through that window. Ended up moving it to a south facing spot and it bounced back a little but never got that same growth spurt.

Spent 45 minutes trying to fix a broken spaghetti sauce

Well I'll be, that's a good point you've made. It's funny how learning to fix one little mistake in the kitchen can teach you a lesson that applies all over the place. I've noticed the same thing in my line of work, a small problem that seems impossible at first just needs a patient, methodical approach instead of panicking and making everything worse. It's like how @the_simon finally found that a simple cube of cold butter does the trick better than dumping in more oil, sometimes the slow solution is the only one that actually works. That little trick of keeping a stick of butter in the fridge is a real time saver once you know it, and it makes you wonder how many other simple fixes we overlook just because we're in a hurry.

Vent: Botched a toner on a client in my own kitchen last Tuesday

Bought one of those cheap daylight bulbs from the hardware store after I turned a client's highlights a weird greenish yellow under my kitchen's old fluorescents... same exact nightmare, just different color. The lighting in my kitchen is so bad I could probably dye someone's hair with ketchup and mustard and not notice until they walked outside. Felt like a total idiot having to call my buddy for the emergency color fix, but hey, that's how we learn, right? At least you caught it before she left your house, that's a win in my book. Now I just squint suspiciously at everything under a 5000k bulb before I let anyone out the door.

My aunt Linda insisted I use fabric softener on all my scrubs, worst laundry advice ever

Are you worried that the vinegar smell might linger on your scrubs or do you find it fades fast enough? I've always been curious if the vinegar trick leaves any trace scent after drying since the vinegar itself has such a strong smell.
