A crane operator in Baltimore made me rethink our whole morning schedule
I was chatting with a crane operator named Dale at a job site in Baltimore last Tuesday, and he asked why we always schedule our concrete pours for 7am. He said the trucks sit in rush hour traffic on I-95 and end up bunched together, so we get 4 trucks at once and then nothing for an hour. We moved the pour to 9:30 the next day and the trucks spaced out perfectly, saved us maybe 3 hours of standing around. Has anyone else changed their pour times based on traffic instead of just doing it first thing?
