My grandpa swore by planting potatoes under a full moon, and I finally gave it a shot this April.

Got to love when the old ways just... work. My great aunt insisted on talking to her tomato plants, like full on conversations about the weather. We all thought she was a bit nuts. Then one summer I was stressed and just started venting to mine about my job... and I swear they were the healthiest plants I've ever had. Maybe the carbon dioxide from all the talking? Or maybe we're all just a little bit nuts.

Tbh, getting caught in a whiteout on the High Sierra Trail near Guitar Lake made me ditch my old 'just pack a fleece' rule for good.

That sounds rough, but honestly a fleece and some decent rain gear is still my go-to for most summer trips up there.

Tried using a $3 roll of washi tape for a monthly spread and ended up with a sticky, wrinkled mess that taught me to test new supplies on a scrap page first.

Testing on junk mail is smart, but the glue can still react differently with your actual planner paper. I've had tape pull fibers off a planner page even when it was fine on an envelope. The real test is a corner of an old page from the same book. For clean peeling, MT brand basic tapes have never failed me, but they're not the cheap ones.

A guy in Omaha showed me why you never skip the weep holes

Isn't it crazy how people want to hide the parts of a house that keep it working? Weep holes look like a mistake if you don't know better. That damp smell in his buddy's garage is the water with nowhere to go. It's sitting in the wall now, probably growing stuff. Filling them is like plugging the drain in your sink and wondering why it overflows.

Tried a new thermal paste on a PS5 job versus the old stuff I had

Twelve degrees is a crazy good result, you basically turned that PS5 into a mini fridge. I'm still using my old tube of Noctua paste for everything out of habit. It works fine, but maybe I should stop being so cheap and try something new.
