My buddy told me my resume reads like a job posting, so I cut it down to one page and got 3 callbacks
I was sitting in my truck last Tuesday after work, tweaking my resume on my phone for the fifth time that week. My buddy Dave took one look and said "dude, this reads like a job posting, not a person." He was right. I had 14 bullet points of skills and zero actual results. So I cut it to one page, swapped the buzzwords for numbers like "cut loading errors by 30%" and "ran a crew of 9," and kept it to 4 short lines per job. Sent it out to 12 openings over 6 days and got 3 callbacks by Friday. Not sure if it's the one page thing or the specific numbers that did it. Anyone else rebuild their resume from scratch and notice a big jump?
