inWarning: My neighbor's old TV repair story made me check my own gear
Why even bother with old junk like that?

inRant: I tried a cheap notebook from the dollar store and my journal fell apart in a week
Read an article calling it the "disposable mindset" where we're trained to expect things to break. It argued that the real cost isn't just the money, it's the constant low-grade stress of managing all this failing junk. That notebook dying isn't an accident, it's a feature. Keeping the old one feels good because it's a thing that actually works, not a countdown timer shaped like an object.

inPatching my driveway left me with a wavy mess, need advice
Wait, you used a steel trowel first? No wonder it's a mess, @the_oscar is totally right about starting with wood or magnesium.

inSerious question, did anyone else think a French press was just for camping?
Honestly a French press is my daily driver, not just for trips. That full immersion brew gets way more flavor out of the beans than my drip machine ever did. It's worth the extra couple minutes for a better cup, lazy weekend or not.

inDropped my bag in rush hour and met my future business partner.
But what if your plan is to stay open to luck? I mean, I get the coffee-on-the-shirt thing for sure. But maybe the point is just to not be so rigid that you miss a good accident when it happens.
