Tried hot mud for taping instead of all-purpose and I'm never going back

Is the 45 minute stuff actually forgiving enough for a first coat on tapered joints or does it flash up on you if you don't work fast enough? I've been burned by the 20 minute setting too quick on a ceiling repair and had to sand down hard edges... that was a nightmare. Been hesitant to try the 45 minute because I'm worried it still dries too fast for a bigger room like a 12x12 with lots of butt joints.

Hot take: power hammers are overrated for small shop work

Yeah but a railroad spike won't hold an edge like real knife steel.

I finally heard a kid ask his dad why the tree had a rope around it

People aren't asking more. You're just noticing it because you care about trees now.

Took me 5 years to realize I was trimming briskets wrong

And it makes you wonder... how many other little things have we been overlooking just because we're so locked into our own routines? I mean, you see that customer's point hit home why the flat was drying out, but what about the fat rendering or the rest temp? @angela687 mentioned knife skills flipping your whole process, and I'm curious did that customer have any other tricks that changed how you think about brisket? Like, was it just the trimming or did they show you something about the cook itself?

Overheard a guy at the pharmacy comparing coupon apps

Lmao yeah that's literally me though. I have like 4 store apps and I told myself I was saving money buying all those "deals" on stuff I didn't even want. Found my pantry full of snacks I bought because they were BOGO and I don't even like them. Still haven't learned my lesson either 💀
