I thought writing prompts from random word generators were junk, but one gave me my best short story in years
Honestly I rolled my eyes at those sites for a long time, then last month a generator spat out "a locked shed and a borrowed ladder" and I had a 2,000 word draft done by Sunday. Tbh the random combo gave me a problem to solve instead of staring at a blank page. What's the weirdest place you've pulled a prompt from that really worked?

A problem to solve instead of staring at a blank page" is a fair point, but I'm not sold that it's the generator doing the work there. Any random thing can jump start you if you're already in the mood to write, and you said yourself you'd been rolling your eyes for years before this one hit. Feels more like you got lucky with timing than the site cracked some code. Would the same prompt have worked for you two years ago when you weren't feeling it?
