At our shop's open house, my stained smock got more compliments than complaints

Read something a while back about how mechanics with clean hands make people nervous. It's the same idea. You see a chef with a pristine white jacket and wonder if they ever actually cook. But a baker with flour dust on their sleeves or a carpenter with sawdust in their hair, that tells a story. It shows they're in the middle of the work, not just watching it happen.

Vintage amplifier repairs are booming in my area.

Totally seeing that trend here too. Dug out my dad's old receiver last year (it was making awful crackling noises) and a can of contact cleaner brought it right back. There's something really satisfying about fixing it yourself instead of just replacing it. The sound from that old thing just feels warmer than anything new you can buy now.

Caught a sneaky issue with backup battery installations

From my own mess-ups, reversing LEDs rarely causes harm! They're built to handle reverse polarity without frying the circuit. Just flip them back and you're good to go!

Warning: Too much dairy in client diets shows up on their skin fast.

Honestly, I was totally convinced dairy was a huge acne trigger for everyone until recently. But hearing stuff like your roommate and cousin example makes it click. It's gotta be way more about your own body and genes than any one food. Tbh I probably put way too much blame on my ice cream habit instead of my stress levels. That's a way better way to look at it.

My cruise near the Bermuda Triangle sparked a debate on unexplained disappearances.

Honestly, I've always been pretty skeptical about the Bermuda Triangle stuff. When you look at the facts, most disappearances have simple causes like rough weather or mistakes by the crew. (That part of the ocean gets a ton of traffic, so more accidents will happen there anyway.) Insurance rates aren't even higher for sailing through there, which tells you something. The wild theories are fun stories, but they fall apart under real checking. It's mostly about wanting a mystery more than having one.
