Chose a local firm over a big name, zero regrets so far

Last month I had to pick between a huge LA disability firm with billboards everywhere and a small office in Fresno that a coworker recommended. I went with the small one because they actually answered the phone on the first try. They got my paperwork sorted in 3 weeks versus the other place saying 2 months minimum. Has anyone else had better luck with a smaller lawyer instead of the big advertised ones?

Big firms got that whole assembly line thing going. They hand you off to case managers and paralegals who barely know your name. The small office in Fresno sounds like they treat you like a person instead of a file number. Three weeks is wild fast for disability paperwork, that usually takes forever with all the back and forth. Plus when you actually need to talk to someone, you get the lawyer themselves, not a call center in another state. It kinda makes you wonder if those billboards are just paying for the volume of clients they burn through.
