Took 3 years to learn the right way to fold a fitted sheet

Last month I finally sat down and watched a 5 minute video from a hotel housekeeper in Nashville. She showed me the trick of tucking the corners into each other before folding. I tried it with my own fitted sheet and it actually came out flat and square for the first time ever. My wife walked in and asked if I had replaced the sheet because it looked so neat. Has anyone else had one of those simple tasks that took way too long to figure out?

Oh man, the fitted sheet thing is a total game changer once it clicks. I had the exact same experience with my own sheets, I must have spent years just balling them up and shoving them in the closet. The corner tuck trick completely fixed it for me too, now I actually look forward to folding laundry just to do that one sheet. My partner noticed the difference right away, they thought I had secretly bought new ones. It's funny how something so simple can make you feel like you've unlocked a secret level in adult life.

Calling it a "secret level in adult life" feels like a lot for something that takes five minutes to learn. I mean, it's a sheet. Not exactly climbing Everest. Glad it worked out, but let's not pretend this is some kind of life milestone.
