inRant: That one Tuesday where everything that could go wrong did go wrong
Lost a whole day's pay plus had to buy lunch for everyone" - man that part really stings. I actually read this article a few weeks back about how construction workers in the south deal with buried utilities getting hit all the time because of old maps and stuff. It said something like 1 in 4 digs hit something unmarked. Makes me wonder how many other people have had their Tuesday ruined like that. Your story about the auger hitting the gas line and then the bee sting on top of it is wild. I hate it when everything stacks up like that. The thunderstorm at the end just feels like the universe was personally out to get you that day. Did you ever find out who was supposed to flag that gas line? I would have been so mad. Hope your next job went smoother. Nobody deserves a day like that.

inBusiness cards vs. elevator pitch: which one do I lead with at a networking mixer?
So you're saying asking a question first just works better because it gets people talking instead of pitching at them? Maybe the card is just a backup for later when they actually want to remember you...

inRaised beds vs. ground planting on my clay soil
Blame it on my stubbornness but @blair597 I still dig straight into the ground every spring and my tomatoes do just fine. Less bending over is just less gardening to me.

inSpent $60 on a French press after my drip machine died and now I'm saving $40 a month on coffee
Funny how people will bend over backwards to save a few bucks but ignore all the hidden costs, isn't it? @rodriguez.felix nailed it - it's like buying a cheap pair of shoes that fall apart in three months and calling it a bargain.
