Rant: my 30 day prompt challenge died on day 9 because I kept rewriting prompt one
I started a personal challenge on June 3rd to write one new story prompt every day for 30 days, and I made it exactly 9 days before it fell apart. The problem was I couldn't leave day one's prompt alone, so every night I'd open my notebook, reread it, tweak one line, and call that my work for the day. By the time I caught myself I had 9 versions of the same haunted lighthouse prompt and zero for anything else. I think the popular advice to 'polish as you go' is what killed it, because it turns making prompts into editing prompts. Does anyone here actually finish a full month of prompts, and if so what do you do when one of them won't leave you alone?
