inThat time I spent $150 on a voice changer for a prank call
Man, that's actually hilarious though. The tech failed but the story is priceless. I've had way dumber purchases that left me with nothing, at least you got a solid memory and a funny story to tell forever. My cousin bought a drone that flew into a lake on its first flight, now that's a true waste of cash. Your gym teacher knowing it was you is the best part.

inMy kitchen light switch sparked and I realized I'd been ignoring a whole section of my house.
Forget just the fire risk, that old cloth wire can be a silent killer for your electronics. The insulation breaks down and lets in moisture, which causes weird voltage drops that slowly fry modern gadgets. We lost two computers and a TV before we figured it out. A partial rewire might not even cut it, because the whole system can be compromised. Honestly, the peace of mind from a full rewire was worth every penny.

inI used a 1/4 inch roundover bit on some reclaimed barn oak and it totally chattered until I reversed the feed direction.
Wait, so you're saying the grit in the wood acts like sandpaper on the bit? That makes sense it would dull so fast. But how slow is "slower" for something like that? Are we talking a crawl, or just not forcing it? And have you found any bits that hold up better to that kind of abuse, or is it just a given you'll be sharpening constantly?

inShoutout to the free co-working space in Chiang Mai's old city
Totally get that, my home internet went out for a whole day last month and I finally cleaned out my terrifying email inbox. Felt like a superhero, but only because I was avoiding the actual scary work I had to do, lmao.

inUpdate: I've been making my grandma's chili wrong for years and just figured it out
Guess we should all just assume bacon fat is the missing step in every old recipe.
