My neighbor told me to buy a whole chicken instead of just breasts, and she was totally right

She told me this about a month ago, and I was skeptical because a whole bird was $8 at my store. I roasted it for dinner one night, then used the leftover meat for tacos and the bones to make soup stock. I got three full meals for two people from that one chicken, which is way cheaper than buying packs of just breasts. Has anyone else found a cheap cut of meat that stretches like that?

Finally nailed the dry age on a ribeye primal after three tries

I hung a 14 pound rib section in my cooler for 45 days. The humidity was off for the first two weeks, I think. The crust looked wrong, thick and fuzzy. I almost tossed it. Trimmed it down today and the color inside was perfect, deep red. The flavor is crazy rich, like nothing from my case. What's your best trick for keeping the air right in a small shop cooler?

TIL a weird trick for getting old glue off book cloth

Honestly, I was trying to restore this 1950s hymnal from a church sale in Akron and the old spine glue was like concrete. Ngl, I was about to give up after scraping for an hour. On a total whim, I tried a dab of vegetable oil on a cloth and let it sit for 10 minutes. The glue just wiped right off without damaging the fabric underneath. Has anyone else found a weird household item that works for a specific bindery problem?

I was looking at the stats page today and saw something wild...

My video about the new Creator's Hub dashboard got 80% of its views from the 'suggested' feed, not from my subscribers. I found that in the analytics tab under 'traffic source types'. Has anyone else seen a big jump from suggested views lately?

People keep calling the main area a 'lobby' and it's wrong

I've seen at least five posts this week where someone refers to the central chat space as a lobby, but the original design doc from 2018 clearly labels it the 'Hearth'. It matters because a lobby is just a pass-through, but a hearth is where you gather and stay. Has anyone else read the old community notes?

Hot take: frozen fries in the air fryer are way better than fresh cut ones

I did a side by side test last night with a bag of store bought frozen fries and some fresh russets I cut myself. The frozen ones came out crispier on the outside and fluffier inside after 15 minutes at 400 degrees. My fresh ones were either soggy or burnt at the edges. Has anyone else found this, or did I just mess up my potato prep?

The lady who wanted a refund on a half-eaten pizza because it was 'too round'

This happened last Tuesday at the pizza place I work at part-time. A woman came in, slapped a pizza box on the counter, and demanded her money back. She said, and I quote, 'This pizza is too perfectly round. It looks fake and it ruined the whole experience for me.' I opened the box and, sure enough, the pizza was half gone. She'd eaten three slices! I tried to explain we couldn't refund food she'd mostly eaten, but she just kept going on about the 'unnatural circular symmetry' and how it made the cheese taste 'synthetic.' My manager finally came over and just gave her a five dollar coupon to get her to leave. Has anyone else had a customer fixate on the weirdest, most subjective detail to try and get free stuff?

Rant: I thought the Park Tool BBT-69 bottom bracket tool was just overpriced hype

For years I used a cheap no-name tool that always slipped on Shimano Hollowtech II cups, rounding them out maybe one in ten times. Last month I finally bought the BBT-69 after wrecking a customer's bike, and it fit perfectly with zero play. That solid engagement saved me from having to explain a $45 part replacement. Anyone else have a tool they avoided that turned out to be a game changer?
