Seen this happen so many times. They always skip the primer on fresh drywall. Now you're stuck doing three extra coats to cover the mud spots. Costs more in labor than if they just prepped right the first time.

Yeah, cobblestone from old castles is OFTEN polished smooth from years of use. That makes it really slippery, even without ice. The uneven shapes can cause trips and falls, especially if you're not careful. Water pools in the dips between stones too, which is a big drainage problem.
