My past self hoarded knick-knacks like they were gold

Looking back, I spent years filling my home with junk that just sat there. Now, I only keep stuff I actually need or enjoy, and my place feels so much better. It's crazy how much lighter life feels without all that clutter.

Last spring, I finally cleared out four garbage bags of souvenirs from my travels. Seeing all that stuff go made me notice how much time I wasted dusting and organizing things I didn't even like. Now my shelves have space for books I'm actually reading... and the whole room just feels calmer. It's like the clutter was quietly stressing me out all along.

What @piper_carter80 said about souvenirs really rings true. Getting rid of that kind of clutter does more than free up shelf space, it seems to quiet the noise in your head too. You stop feeling tied down by all those little objects.

But it's just clutter. Not that big a deal.
