Overheard a customer say 'the wire's sticking out the wall' and yeah.

Got a call once where someones internet kept cutting out and I spent an hour checking the line and the modem and their splitters before I finally pulled the faceplate off the wall and the whole coaxial cable just fell out the other side. The last guy had literally just stuffed it into the hole and screwed the plate on over it with nothing holding it in place. I mean it worked for like two weeks until the cable slid back far enough to disconnect itself. Ended up having to cut a new hole and put in a proper low voltage bracket which is like a five minute thing if you just do it right the first time. Makes you wonder what other stuff gets skipped when nobody is watching.

PSA: Stop checking the price tag at thrift stores before you look at the item closely

$8 for a lamp with a chewed cord and cracked socket? That's wild.

PSA: That cheap HVAC filter subscription turned out to be a scam

My buddy Mark signed up for FilterTime last fall. They sent him 16x25 filters when his unit takes 16x20 every single time. He tried calling their support line and got put on hold for 45 minutes before they hung up on him. He ended up paying for three months of filters he just stuffed in the garage because he felt bad throwing them away. Finally had to file a dispute with his bank to stop the charges. Total nightmare, he still gets spam emails from them.

Used to post my digital art flat with no process pics big mistake

Used to post my digital art flat with no process pics big mistake" - yeah that was me too for like 2 years. I started showing my messy sketches and half-done color blocks and suddenly people actually commented asking how I did things. The raw stages show the struggle, makes people feel like they're in on the process instead of just looking at a finished product. I even leave in some ugly parts sometimes, like the sketch where I totally messed up the anatomy before fixing it. People eat that up way more than the final polished thing for some reason.

That $5 'expired' protein powder turned out fine

Protein powder stays good a lot longer than people think, honestly. I've used stuff that was way past the date with zero issues, just had to shake it up more. Unless it smells funky or has clumps, you're probably fine.
