Serious question, did a diner cook in Tulsa ruin my drip coffee forever?
I was at this little spot off Route 66 in Tulsa two weeks ago and the cook poured a tiny bit of salt in the grounds before brewing, said it kills the bitter. I tried it at home with my usual $9 bag and now plain drip tastes flat to me. Is there a ratio people use or did I just wreck my own taste buds?

Pinch of salt is a real old trick, like a quarter teaspoon per pot. Your taste buds aren't wrecked, you just learned what good coffee tastes like now.
