Swore by free weights for years until I tried a cable machine last Tuesday

Guess I need to get myself an air fryer then.

Had to choose between a star tracker and a better lens for my astro setup

80mm f/2.8 on my crop sensor and that first clear night made me forget all about trackers for a while. The instant gratification of a clean single exposure is real, especially if you're like me and spend as much time hiking to spots as you do shooting. You'll end up with both down the road anyway, just like the rest of us broke astro nerds.

Stood in a townhouse for 20 minutes waiting for the realtor to show up

and honestly that's why i started calling the office 10 minutes before any showing to confirm the agent is actually on their way. saved me so many times from standing around like an idiot. had one agent last year who was 20 minutes late and tried to blame it on traffic but like... you knew what time the showing was supposed to be, plan ahead. if they can't respect your time for the first meeting, that's a huge red flag for the whole home buying process. next time just leave after 10 minutes and email their broker about it, that usually gets results way faster than calling the agent again.

Hot take: chicken wire is way better than floral tape for large installations

Totally agree, chicken wire is a game changer for big builds like that

Used a butter knife to fix my noisy ceiling fan last weekend

Is it weird that I actually read somewhere that butter knives are surprisingly good for fan balancing? I saw some old home maintenance blog talking about using kitchen utensils as makeshift tools and I thought it was a joke at first. But hey, if it worked for you maybe it's legit. I tried using a penny taped to a blade once and that was a total disaster, made the wobble way worse. Maybe I should dig up that blog again and see what other crazy tricks they had.
