Just realized my coworker was right about how I pack my toolbox
Honestly, I always just threw my wrenches and sockets in the top tray all mixed up. This older guy on my crew finally told me, 'You waste 10 minutes a day digging for the right size.' He showed me to group them by size on magnetic strips instead of tossing them loose. Took me 3 days to get used to it but now I grab what I need in seconds flat. Has anyone else had a coworker call out a small habit like that and it actually made a difference?

Man, not to be a jerk but is this really that deep? Like yeah, digging for tools is annoying but ten minutes a day? Come on. That's a huge stretch unless you're like a super slow mechanic or something. I throw my wrenches in a drawer and I honestly don't spend more than 30 seconds tops finding the one I need. Maybe your coworker was just trying to micromanage your setup because he's bored. I mean good for you if it works but I bet you could have kept doing your thing and been fine. Not everything needs to be a big efficiency overhaul.

Laughing because I'm the guy who spends 10 minutes looking for a 10mm socket I just had in my hand FIVE SECONDS AGO. Pretty sure I just have tool amnesia or something.

Hold up, has anyone thought about whether that "lost" time is mental fatigue, not just physical? Like hunting for a tool might mess with your focus for the next job way more than the 30 seconds itself.
