Last spring I finally built three 4x8 raised beds using untreated pine from Lowe's cost me about $60 each. Filled them with a mix of topsoil compost and peat moss. The difference was immediate my tomatoes grew twice as big and I got peppers all the way into October. That clay soil just stays too wet and compacted for roots to breathe. Has anyone else switched and regretted not doing it sooner?

Has anyone else had a long trusted tool suddenly screw them on a critical dimension?
