I was at a city hall meeting in Tacoma last month and a stranger's question changed how I ask for help.

Wait, did you say this was at a city hall meeting in Tacoma? I'm shocked anyone there actually asked a clear question. Every time I've gone it's just people complaining in circles for three hours. That guy is a genius. I've started doing the same thing at work, like instead of asking how a report works, I'll say "I need to pull last Tuesday's sales numbers for the east region and I can't find the filter." People jump to help because they know exactly what's broken. It saves everyone so much time.

Remember when we had to eyeball the pour temperature on the old cupola furnace back in '05?

What changed with the scrap rate?

Shoutout to the guy at the Portland swap meet who sold me a 'working' power supply

Sounds like a pretty standard swap meet story.

My local radio spot just hit 15% brand recall in a survey and I'm shocked

Local papers still hit a different crowd. We run a small print ad every month and it always brings in the most loyal customers.

I bought a $300 rock saw and it almost cut my finger off

Maybe it's not about letting the tool win. Some things just earn a healthy dose of fear. A table saw isn't a hammer that gives you a bruised thumb. It's a machine that can change your life in a split second if your mind wanders. Calling it a simple mistake downplays how fast and final that mistake can be. Sometimes that dust it collects is just the price of keeping all your fingers.
