Shoutout to the flower market in Portland's Northwest district
I was there last Thursday and saw a vendor using old metal watering cans as vases for their bulk sunflowers. It looked amazing and saved them from buying a ton of glassware. Has anyone else tried using unconventional containers for market displays?

Remember trying to use my old rain boots as planters once. It just looked like I was too lazy to throw out some busted shoes. The watering can idea is way smarter.

@ward.jamie, you got me with the rain boots idea. Last spring I tried to use old rain boots for my herb display and it just looked like I was a hoarder with a gardening problem. @sageadams, you're right - the watering can method is way cleaner. I did it with some rusty ones I found at a flea market and they actually worked perfect for tall flowers like gladiolus. Might try the boot thing again if I ever find ones that don't make me look like a mess.
