Showerthought: I used to pack like I was moving house every time I changed cities

For my first two years, I'd bring a huge checked bag, a carry on, and a backpack, which took me a full day to pack. Last month in Lisbon, I missed a train because I was struggling with all that stuff on the stairs at Rossio station. The next day, I donated half my clothes and bought a single 40L backpack. Now I can pack in 20 minutes and just walk out the door. Anyone else switch to one bag and find it changed how you travel?

You missed a train, not a flight.

Tell me what you had to leave behind that you thought you'd miss.

Ever pack too much for a trip, @wells.karen?
