Spent $40 on that pun jar at the flea market
I saw this big glass jar at the flea market last weekend. Said 'Puns for Hire' on the side. Looked cool so I dropped $40 on it. Got home and it was just 50 index cards with the same joke written on each one. 'What do you call a fake noodle?' An impasta. That's it. Has anyone else gotten burned by a Dad joke related product like this?

You gotta flip through those jars before you buy... I almost grabbed one that said 'Jokes for Days' and it turned out to be 100 slips of 'Why did the scarecrow win an award? He was outstanding in his field.' I keep a little stack of the ones I actually laugh at and toss the rest, but it's a real gamble with these things. If it doesn't say 'handwritten' or 'mixed jokes' on the label, you're probably getting a one note joke factory.

Mixed jokes are the only safe bet in that aisle. Learned that one the hard way.

$40 for 50 index cards with the same joke is a total scam. I can't believe they put "Puns for Hire" on the jar and it was just one pun repeated over and over. That's like selling a book with the same page copied fifty times. @vera_palmer is right, you really gotta check what's inside those jars before handing over your cash. At least now you know to look for "mixed jokes" or handwritten labels.
