I finally had a customer explain their PC issue without saying 'it's broken'

Had a lady come into my shop last Tuesday with a Dell laptop from 2019. She told me straight up 'the fan sounds like a blender full of gravel when I open Photoshop.' No 'it's slow' or 'it won't turn on', just a dead honest description. It hit me different because most people just say it's broken and I have to play 20 questions. Has anyone else noticed how rare it is to get a clear symptom report from a customer without prying it out of them?

Had a guy bring in his desktop once and said "it sounds like a dying cow when I try to play games." Pulled the side panel off and found a cable had worked its way into one of the case fans. Took me maybe five minutes to fix because he gave me that clear picture right away. You're right, most people just say "it's slow" and you spend ten minutes trying to figure out if it's a malware issue or a bad hard drive or something else entirely.

That clear description is like finding a unicorn in the wild, @alice89. People just don't know how to describe problems anymore.

Dying cow is a pretty solid description though lmao. Way better than "it's slow.
