Cleared 100 dust-clogged laptops from a school district this month

It was a contract job for the local high school. They had a pile of old Dell Latitudes and HP ProBooks that teachers said were overheating and shutting down. Every single one was packed with that thick, felt-like dust from classroom air. The milestone hit me when I logged the last serial number. It's not the money, it's seeing the scale of neglect in one place. What's the biggest single-source dust bunny nest you've had to deal with?

Tell Jesse to open a school laptop before calling that normal.

That's just basic maintenance, not some heroic cleanup. Schools have tight budgets and those laptops probably got used hard every day. Honestly, 100 over a whole district seems pretty normal to me.

You think that's bad? I once opened a desktop from a small town library that had a dust bunny the size of a guinea pig. It was holding the fan blades hostage. I just stood there for a minute wondering what kind of ecosystem was living in there.
