A repair job in a flooded basement last spring made me rethink my whole tool kit setup.
I was fixing a waterlogged server rack for a small business in St. Louis, and my main bag with all my go-to drivers and testers was just too bulky to move around the mess. I ended up using a basic pocket-sized kit from a hardware store run, and it got the job done faster. Do you guys keep a stripped-down emergency kit, or do you always bring the full loadout to every call?

Oh man, that's the truth. I keep a beat-up little canvas bag with just the basics in my truck now. It's saved me more times than I can count when the full kit is just in the way.

Wait, you keep a whole tool kit in your truck normally?

That beat-up canvas bag idea is smart. I keep a small tool roll with just the real essentials in my trunk for those messy jobs.
