Just realized our book club picks were all the same type of book
For the last six months, our group in Denver kept picking heavy literary fiction. The debates got stale because we were all just saying the same things. I suggested we try a graphic novel, 'Maus' by Art Spiegelman, as a test. The talk was way more lively because it was a new format for everyone. Has your group ever broken a pattern to get better talks going?

Wait, you had a book club in Denver that only read heavy fiction for six whole months? That sounds like a special kind of group punishment. Good on you for shaking things up with Maus, that's a powerful choice. It makes total sense that switching the format would wake everyone up. I'm stuck on how any group could stay that narrow for so long without someone cracking sooner.

Right? The group must have had some serious stamina. Makes you wonder if anyone was secretly reading thrillers on the side just to stay sane.

Our Denver crew needed that graphic novel shock, @river320.
