My Kickstarter pledge for a game with 400 minis was a bad call
I backed a fantasy dungeon crawler two years ago because the art looked cool. It cost me $180 for the full set with all the extra stuff. The game finally arrived last month and we've played it twice. It takes over an hour just to set up and the rules are a confusing mess. I could have bought three great games for that price. Anyone else have a big box game that just collects dust?

My $200 Zombicide box is basically a fancy coffee table now.

My copy of Kingdom Death is the same. We just pick one monster and one gear set to play with for the night. It cuts setup down to twenty minutes and we actually get to play.

Honestly, that "takes over an hour just to set up" part hits way too close to home. I had a huge space game that felt like a second job to get to the table. Tbh, what finally worked was just picking one or two hero minis and the core bad guys and leaving the other 300 pieces in the box. It made the game way less of a thing to deal with. I get what @sageadams means about it being furniture, but using a tiny bit of it can sometimes save the whole purchase.
