My shop's getting more requests for used bike parts.

Man, I once tried to fix my bike with some old parts to be eco-friendly, and let me tell you, that was a mistake. The brake cable gave out on a hill, and I ended up in a bush. Safety absolutely comes first, no question about it. Being green is great, but it doesn't mean much if you're laid up with a broken arm. Regular checks on your bike are just common sense, like checking your car's tires. We can care about the planet and still make sure our rides won't fall apart.

My model kit pile shrank after a true crime series binge

Honestly same, I get weirdly satisfying work done with true crime as background noise. That combo really does clear the headspace.

Seeing all these perfect spreads online is killing my vibe

Wait actually, I see people say this a lot but it kinda misses the point. Those perfect spreads online are just the highlight reel, you know? Nobody is posting the three pages of scribbled-out lists or the random grocery notes. I mean, my own notebook has a page where I just tested if my pen still worked. It's not real life to compare your everyday stuff to someone's single best page they chose to show.

My boss made me redraw a plan by hand and it was INFURIATING but right

I redid a site plan last year and had the sewer line crossing through a building on the digital version. Totally missed it because all the layers just looked like colorful lines. Drawing it by hand with a ruler, I got to that spot and just stared at my own stupidity for a solid minute. Felt like a total genius who somehow also can't tie his own shoes. It really does force your brain to engage in a different way.
