What happens if a worn part breaks during a ride? Safety seems way more important than being green, lol.

Ugh my bike chain snapped last week and I almost wiped out in traffic. I mean yeah being green is cool but maybe it's just me, I'd rather get home safe.

Man, I once tried to fix my bike with some old parts to be eco-friendly, and let me tell you, that was a mistake. The brake cable gave out on a hill, and I ended up in a bush. Safety absolutely comes first, no question about it. Being green is great, but it doesn't mean much if you're laid up with a broken arm. Regular checks on your bike are just common sense, like checking your car's tires. We can care about the planet and still make sure our rides won't fall apart.
